The short answer
Every item has its own flat price, and the order minimum is $100. A sofa is $126, a queen mattress $103, a standard fridge $164, a washer $133. Larger loads are priced by how much of the truck they fill, from $241 for a quarter truck of about 4 cubic yards to $732 for a full truck of about 16 cubic yards.
How the pricing works
- Flat per item, from the published list, or a truck-fill tier for piles and cleanouts.
- Shown before you book. Get an instant quote from a photo or pick items online. The price only changes if you approve it.
- Carry-out included from anywhere in the home, any floor. No stairs fee, no walk-up fee.
- No same-day surcharge. Book by 4 PM for same-day pickup.
- $100 order minimum. Orders under $100 are billed at $100.
- No volume discounts. The list is the list.
For context, the City of Detroit's free weekly bulk pickup takes up to 2 cubic yards at the curb, set out by 7 a.m. The quarter-truck tier is about twice that, loaded from wherever the items sit. The same list applies across Detroit and the Wayne, Oakland and Macomb suburbs, from Downriver to Troy.
How to use this page: find each item you want gone and add the prices up, the way the worked totals below do. If the job is mostly loose boxes, bags and mixed clutter rather than distinct pieces, skip the item tables and go straight to the truck-fill tiers at the bottom. Not sure which applies? Upload a photo and the quote will show which way the job is priced before you book. Either way, the price you see includes the carry up from the basement, loading, hauling and disposal.
Furniture
Most furniture in older Detroit houses lives in one of three hard places: the basement rec room, a half-story bedroom under the roof of a bungalow, or the upper flat of a two-flat. The carry is included in every price below.
| Item | Flat price |
|---|---|
| Sofa / Couch | $126 |
| Loveseat | $119 |
| Sleeper Sofa | $149 |
| Sectional Sofa (2-Piece) | $141 |

| Dresser (Standard) | $126 |
| Cabinet / China Hutch | $160 |
| Entertainment Center / TV Stand | $96 |
| Desk (Standard) | $83 |
Mattresses and beds
A queen mattress and box spring together take up about as much room as the city's whole weekly curb allowance, which is why bedroom clear-outs are a common booking.
| Item | Flat price |
|---|---|
| Mattress — Twin | $82 |
| Mattress — Full / Double | $94 |
| Mattress — Queen | $103 |
| Mattress — King / Cal King | $114 |

| Bed Frame (Standard / Metal / Platform) | $68 |

Appliances
Appliances with refrigerant, like fridges, freezers, dehumidifiers and AC units, fall under federal recovery rules at final disposal, and Warren will not take AC units or dehumidifiers at the curb without a technician's Freon sticker. Gas appliances and water heaters need to be disconnected and drained before pickup.
| Item | Flat price |
|---|---|
| Refrigerator (Standard) | $164 |
| Refrigerator (Side-by-Side / French Door) | $183 |
| Freezer (Chest) | $146 |
| Washer | $133 |

Basement appliances are the same price as kitchen ones.
Electronics, garage and outdoor
Detroit's bulk program excludes tires and auto parts, so garages across the metro tend to collect them. They are on the list here.
| Item | Flat price |
|---|---|
| TV (Under 42") | $62 |
| TV (42" to 65") | $68 |
| TV (65"+) | $73 |

| Rolling Tool Chest / Workbench | $100 |
| Hot Tub / Spa | $390 |
| Above-Ground Pool (Frame + Liner) | $145 |
Renovation debris and bags
The city's curb takes renovation materials only in pieces under 50 pounds and never takes concrete, brick, asphalt or shingles. Rehabs in Corktown, Woodbridge and the West Side generate exactly those materials, plus cast iron that nobody wants to carry.
| Item | Flat price |
|---|---|
| Construction Debris | $120 |
| Concrete / Masonry Debris (per 1/4 truck) | $219 |
| Drywall (per sheet / small bundle) | $37 |
| Carpet — Removal (per room) | $71 |

| 20 Bags of Debris | $259 |
| Paint (1-Gallon Can) | $30 |
Worked totals for common Detroit jobs
- Bedroom in a Royal Oak bungalow: queen mattress and box spring set, metal frame and a standard dresser: $143 + $68 + $126 = $337.
- Basement laundry and rec room in Livonia: washer, dryer and a 2-piece sectional: $133 + $128 + $141 = $402.
- Kitchen refresh in Dearborn Heights: gas range, dishwasher and standard fridge: $137 + $109 + $164 = $410.
- Garage in Warren: two sets of tires, a snow blower and a lawn mower: $87 + $87 + $71 + $65 = $310.
- Bathroom gut in a Woodbridge Victorian: cast iron tub and two radiators: $185 + $123 + $123 = $431.
- Single small item: a coffee table alone is $67, billed at the $100 minimum; add a dining chair and it is $67 + $45 = $112.
When a job is mostly loose boxes and mixed clutter rather than distinct items, a truck-fill tier below is usually the cleaner way to price it.
Truck-fill tiers for cleanouts
| Load size | Flat price |
|---|---|
| 1/4 truck (~4 cubic yards) | $241 |
| 3/8 truck (~6 cubic yards) | $338 |
| 1/2 truck (~8 cubic yards) | $431 |
| 5/8 truck (~10 cubic yards) | $513 |
| 3/4 truck (~12 cubic yards) | $587 |
| 7/8 truck (~14 cubic yards) | $661 |
| Full truck (~16 cubic yards) | $732 |
A typical basement-plus-garage purge in a Warren or Livonia ranch lands somewhere in the middle of this table. Whole-house estate cleanouts in Indian Village or the Grosse Pointes can run past one full truck, using multiples of the same tiers. Frequently asked questions
What is the minimum charge for junk removal in Detroit?
The order minimum is $100. Orders whose items add up to less are billed at $100. Pairing small pieces in one booking, such as an end table and a nightstand at $52 + $57 = $109, makes the minimum go further.
Is there a fee for stairs or basements?
No. Crews carry items out from anywhere in the home, any floor, at the list price. That covers basement rec rooms, half-story bungalow bedrooms, upper flats in two-flats and detached garages off the alley.
Is there sales tax on junk removal in Michigan?
There is no sales tax line on our Detroit prices. The total you see before booking is the total you pay.
How much is a full truck?
A full truck, about 16 cubic yards, is $732. A half truck, about 8 cubic yards, is $431. For scale, a full truck is roughly eight weeks of the City of Detroit's 2-cubic-yard curb allowance, carried out in one visit.
Can the price change on the day?
The price is shown before you book and only changes if you approve it. If the crew finds more than your photos showed, they show you the updated total before taking the extra items.
Do you offer discounts for bigger jobs?
No. There are no volume discounts. Bigger loads use the truck-fill tiers instead of item prices, and those tiers are the same for every address in the metro.
