Furniture Removal in Detroit

A dining set from the first owner of a 1950s ranch, a sleeper sofa that fought its way into the basement decades ago, a dresser nobody wants to carry up the stairs: that’s the kind of furniture we’re here for. You photograph it, you get a flat price — a sofa is $126, a dresser $126 — and the crew does all of the lifting.

What the Curb Will and Won’t Do

Furniture is the one thing the City of Detroit’s weekly bulk program is built for — as long as it fits in two cubic yards, you can get it to the curb yourself, and it’s out before 7 a.m.

When the City Works

A chair and an end table you can carry out the night before, and a week you can wait for bulk day.

When It Doesn’t

A full room, a sectional still in the basement, an armoire too heavy for one person, or a closing date that won’t wait for next week’s truck.

Pieces in usable shape are set aside for donation before anything else is disposed of.

Furniture Removal FAQs

How much does furniture removal cost in Detroit?

Each piece has its own price: a sofa is $126, a recliner $98, a standard dresser $126. Several rooms together usually come in cheaper as truck-fill, starting at $241.

Can you get a couch out of a basement with a tight turn?

Usually, yes. Legs come off and backs unbolt where they can, and the crew pads the walls on the way up. If a piece truly won’t fit, it can be taken apart on site.

Do you donate furniture?

Clean, sound pieces go to donation first. Anything too worn for that is disposed of at a licensed facility.

Do I need to be home for the pickup?

Not if the crew can get to everything. Many people leave a side door or garage code and get photos once it’s done.

Can you take office furniture too?

Yes — desks, filing cabinets, chairs and shelving from a home office or a small business, each on the same quote.

Furniture You’re Done With?

One photo of the room is enough for a flat price.
